RMIT English Worldwide Teacher Training

RMIT English Worldwide offers a 4-week intensive Teacher Training program delivered at locations worldwide. It is aimed at teachers whose first language is not English and who need to become more familiar with current principles and techniques for effective English language teaching. The program is currently delivered in face-to-face mode and covers language analysis, teaching methodology, classroom management and activities, lesson planning and peer teaching practice. Pre-requisites for enrolment are a recognised University degree and demonstrated language proficiency at an IELTS band score of approximately 7.0 (or equivalent). Successful completion of the course will enable participants to function effectively as teachers in an English language classroom.

Cambridge CELTA Course

The Cambridge Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) is the most widely recognised pre-service qualification for teachers of English to speakers of other languages anywhere in the world, including Australia, where it is well regarded by language centres. The CELTA is currently offered at Melbourne, Australia and RMIT University’s campus in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Introduction to English Language Teaching (ELT)

A short session to familiarise participants with grammar and methodology concepts. It is suitable for people who are thinking of doing the CELTA course or who are already enrolled. It is also useful for teachers and tutors working for volunteer organizations. ELT is currently being offered at the Melbourne centre.
