RMIT English Worldwide's courses are designed to make learning English
challenging and enjoyable. Every RMIT English Worldwide student will receive
individual student books. Each book includes five units of work, covering
the following key language skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening
and language study. Students will also receive a separate book for Independent
Learning at each course. The modular curriculum offers partners flexibility
of delivery. Students can study one module or undertake both modules to
complete the whole level through 250 hours of intensive study. Each student
book features questions and activities, which students complete on an
individual and small group basis. Exercises from the computer based Planet
English are also referenced clearly throughout the books.
Teachers are also well supported by RMIT English Worldwide with comprehensive
teacher books at each level that correspond to the student books. The
teacher books provide step-by-step approaches to teaching the various
units. They also include answers for the set of questions and activities
as well as tape scripts of all recorded materials. Audio-cassettes accompany
the listening and speaking components of the course. A Curriculum Guide
also supports the teacher books. RMIT English Worldwide programs are comprehensive
and while they do not require additional educational supplements, teachers
are encouraged to add materials that suit students' interests and the
local context.
Planet English is a high quality multimedia program designed to be used
by innovative English teaching centres worldwide. Planet English focuses
on communicative skills as well as encouraging learning beyond the classroom
with activities that focus on independent learning strategies. Planet
English teaches English as an international language using different styles
of English from around the world and 70 interactive activities to keep
learning interesting. Planet English is integrated into the RMIT English
Worldwide curriculum and complements the student books.
RMIT English Worldwide incorporates all student assessment tools. These
include:
- Placement tools
- Mid course assessment
- End of course assessment
Student assessment is a continuous process with students expected to
successfully complete all assessment tasks to pass each course. RMIT English
Worldwide oversees the verification and approval of results as a quality
control measure.
Students who successfully complete their course will be awarded a RMIT
English Worldwide certificate. RMIT English Worldwide certificates are
recognised by RMIT University and some other universities and Colleges
of Technical and Further Education (TAFEs) for entry to degree (Advanced
level EAP only) and vocational courses (Upper Intermediate and Advanced
EAP levels).
The delivery of the RMIT English Worldwide Partner Program is carefully
monitored at all sites throughout the world using a comprehensive set
of quality assurance procedures.
Partners are provided with an Operations Manual which outlines the requirements
for delivering RMIT English Worldwide programs. Partners are also expected
to adhere to the requirements as well as participate in a Program Audit
that outlines the standards and evidence required. It is important for
all Partners to adhere to the requirements and standards, as the goal
of RMIT English Worldwide is to establish a network of centres that deliver
quality programs at high standards. This goal will contribute to the mutual
success for both RMIT English Worldwide and all its Partners.
A kit outlining marketing and promotion guidelines will be distributed
to every RMIT English Worldwide Partner. The RMIT English Worldwide Marketing
Kit contains templates for advertising, brochures, flyers, stationery,
and posters to assist in recruiting students and promoting your business.
RMIT English Worldwide Partners are also able to access additional services
at a discount rate. These include:
